Art shapes dignity, identity, and opportunity.

About Muundo Foundation
Muundo Foundation is an art-driven advocacy and creative entrepreneurship nonprofit using culture, storytelling, and artistic practice to challenge stigma, restore dignity, and expand opportunity for people experiencing social exclusion — starting with vitiligo.
Founded in Uganda and shaped by lived experience, Muundo exists at the intersection of art, identity, and social justice. We work with individuals, communities, institutions, and cultural partners to transform harmful narratives into knowledge, confidence, and economic possibility.
Our work is rooted in the belief that knowledge restores dignity, and creativity restores power.

Learning to Stand in My Own Skin
"I didn’t know there were other people like me. I didn’t have language for what was happening to my skin, or for what was happening inside me."
For Octoviah, isolation became a way of survival until she found Muundo. Today, she is a runway model and community leader—proving that visibility isn't about exposure, but about power.
Advancing Dignity, Equity & Impact

Muundo Foundation advances social inclusion through art-based advocacy and creative entrepreneurship, with primary alignment to SDGs 10, 4, and 8. Art opens the door.
Our Commitment
Muundo Foundation aligns its work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a globally recognised framework for advancing dignity, equity, and sustainable development.
Intentional Focus
Our engagement is intentional and selective. We focus on goals that directly reflect our mission, ensuring alignment that is meaningful rather than symbolic.
Why SDGs Matter to Muundo
Social exclusion is not only a social issue — it is a development challenge. Stigma, marginalisation, trauma, and unequal access to cultural and economic participation undermine progress across multiple development goals.
Muundo addresses these challenges at their root by:
The SDGs provide a shared language through which Muundo collaborates with partners across the cultural, development, and policy sectors.
Muundo contributes to the SDGs through art-based advocacy, cultural participation, and creative entrepreneurship, working alongside people experiencing social exclusion to expand knowledge, opportunity, and inclusion.

Through art-based advocacy and inclusive cultural platforms, Muundo challenges stigma, reshapes representation, and expands access to social, cultural, and economic life for people experiencing social exclusion.
